Escalandrum

Escalandrum is a leading Argentine jazz ensemble led by drummer Daniel Pipi Piazzolla, grandson of the legendary composer Astor Piazzolla. With over 25 years of career, the group is internationally acclaimed for blending original compositions with powerful jazz reinterpretations of Piazzolla’s music.

They have received 9 Premios Gardel and a Latin Grammy (2011) for Piazzolla play’s Piazzolla in the Best Tango Album category. The band features Nicolás Guerschberg (piano), Damián Fogiel (tenor sax), Mariano Sivori (double bass), Martín Pantyrer (baritone sax & bass clarinet), and Gustavo Musso (alto & soprano sax).

In 2024, they celebrated their milestone with two key projects: the album “Escalectric”, featuring eleven original works, and the concert Homenaje a Piazzolla. With 15 albums released, their legacy was also captured in the 2022 book Escalandrum: entre Piazzolla y el jazz by Fernando Ríos.

Carlos Sarduy & Groove Messengers

Carlos Sarduy is a renowned and multifaceted Cuban musician known for his skills as a trumpeter, percussionist, pianist, and composer. He has collaborated with major international artists across jazz, flamenco, and popular music. His work blends Afro-Cuban influences with modern jazz, celebrated for its freshness, depth, and innovation. His album Luz showcases this fusion with improvisation and traditional rhythms like rumba and batá at the core.

He is also part of El Comité, a seven-member band seen as top representatives of their generation. Their album Y qué!? (So What) mixes afrobeat, funk, and Latin jazz, and pays tribute to legends like Chucho Valdés and Miles Davis.

Abe Rábade i Eivissa Jazz Experience

The Eivissa Jazz Experience will offer a rich timbral combination in its 2025 edition: voice, flute, alto saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums.

The ensemble, brought together each year by Galician pianist Abe Rábade, gathers a group of artists who have previously participated in the Eivissa Jazz. Each participant contributes an original composition, and after a single rehearsal the day before the concert, the band performs an exclusive show at the Baluard de Santa Llúcia. Every performance of the Experience is filled with the fleeting adaptability that jazz demands, resulting in unexpected and unrepeatable moments.

Jacky Terrasson Trio

Jacky Terrasson, born in Berlin in 1965 to an American mother and a French father, is one of the most recognized French jazz pianists worldwide. Introduced in The New York Times in 1994 as one of 30 artists shaping American culture, he has fulfilled this promise with a prolific career. Trained in classical piano and jazz (Berklee), he won the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition in 1993.

Terrasson has performed with jazz legends such as Betty Carter and Ray Brown, and released numerous albums with Blue Note over 25 years. An international performer, he now starts a new chapter with his own label, Earth Sounds, and the new album Moving On, recorded in France and New York. The album blends jazz with classical music, birdsong, poetry, and happiness — featuring guest artists like Camille Bertault and Grégoire Maret.

Anja Gottberg Quartet

Anja Gottberg is a bassist from a small town in Sweden, currently based in Amsterdam. She began her musical journey on the cello, inspired by regional folk music. After classical cello studies in high school and at the Malmö conservatory, she switched to double bass, which led her to study in Amsterdam and later in New York with jazz legend Buster Williams.

Now an active figure in the Dutch jazz scene, she plays with Ernst Glerum’s Omnibus Trio and Matteo Paggis’ W O R D S, and tours with her own project—which won 1st Prize at the 2024 Getxo Jazz Competition.

In 2025, Anja is the Young Creator at Jazzfest Amsterdam, working with Reinier Baas and Mark Schilders. Outside of music, she enjoys painting, sewing, fashion, and time in the sun. She’s exploring where to live next, hoping to one day return to Sweden.

AIEI – Álex Conde Trio

Álex Conde is a rising Spanish pianist and a leading figure in flamenco-jazz and flamenco piano. After 18 years in Boston, New York, and San Francisco, studying and developing his career, he returned to Spain to continue sharing his artistry. His compositions have been premiered by major ensembles such as the Oakland Symphony and Miami Chamber Orchestra.

Conde has collaborated with artists like Diego El Cigala, Tomatito, John Patitucci, and Arturo O’Farrill, performing at venues such as Blue Note NY, SFJazz, and major festivals in Spain and the U.S.

His latest project, El Trío (2025), features original works and bold arrangements—like a unique take on Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine —alongside bassist Pablo Martín Caminero and drummer Michael Olivera.

Pablo Martín Caminero blends jazz and flamenco, trained in Vienna, and is currently creating a flamenco trilogy (Al Toque, Al Cante, and Al Baile) with a contemporary jazz perspective.

Michael Olivera, a Cuban drummer based in Madrid, is internationally recognized for his versatility, virtuosity, and more than 50 recorded albums. He fuses jazz with Afro-Cuban traditions and has played with some of the biggest names in music.

Claudia Bardagí

Catalan singer, pianist, and composer Claudia Bardagí presents her second album WAVE, featuring 9 original compositions that elegantly blend pop, rock, and jazz.

Trained between Barcelona and New York, the artist delivers an album full of positive energy, where songs in English, Spanish, and Catalan coexist alongside instrumental pieces.

Motherhood, courage, care, love, fear, wounds, the interpretation of reality, and hope weave together the storyline of this powerful journey she invites us to take.

Big Band Ciutat d’Eivissa

The Big Band Ciutat de Eivissa is a group of the Municipal Music Board of Eivissa, which depends on the City Council of Eivissa.

A big band is the largest group that exists in the world of jazz, with a standard formation formed by 17 musicians. Traditionally, big bands have served as a quarry in which young musicians become familiar with the different styles performed and gain concert experience while sharing the stage with professional musicians and established artists.

In each edition of Eivissa Jazz since 2016, the BBCE has prepared themed concerts. For this year it will collaborate with singer Arantxa to celebrate the centenary of Sarah Vaughan’s birth and pay tribute to the great singers of the golden age of big bands.

Miquel Ángel Rigo Quintet

Moix esquiu is a live-recorded musical project captured in Portocolom on July 7, 2023, as part of the A Jazz de Mar festival. This is the first personal album led by Mallorcan saxophonist Miquel Àngel Rigo. The music blends jazz, swing, groove, and Brazilian influences, focusing on originality, simplicity, taste, sensitivity, and group interaction.

The quintet consists of experienced Mallorcan musicians who have worked together for years, sharing mutual trust and creativity that make each concert unique and fresh.

Band members:

• Miquel Àngel Rigo (1988, Llucmajor): Jazz saxophonist with a strong background in various groups and recordings, studied at CSMIB, and active in the jazz scene with multiple collaborations and projects.
• Josep Servera (1995, Son Servera): Jazz drummer trained in Barcelona and Mallorca, active in many jazz formations and recordings, and a vital part of Mallorca’s jazz community.
• Jaume Riera (1992, Palma): Pianist trained in classical and jazz at CSMIB, involved in diverse projects and original compositions with numerous collaborations.
• Joan Garcias (1994, Llucmajor): Double bassist trained at Conservatori del Liceu, has collaborated with many jazz groups and artists, and has several recordings.
• Tomeu Garcias (1990, Llucmajor): Trombonist with classical and jazz studies, experienced in many big bands and projects in Barcelona and Mallorca, and active as a performer and teacher.

Goran Levi Quartet

Goran Levi Quartet is a contemporary jazz ensemble based in Mallorca, led by Bulgarian-born guitarist Goran Levi. The group features Joan Garcias Tur on double bass, Josep Servera on drums, and Carles Medina on tenor saxophone. Together, they blend classic and modern jazz influences with Mediterranean and folk sounds, creating a personal and vibrant musical language.

Their latest album, Guide Tones (Microscopi, 2024), has been praised for its originality and expressive range, featuring pieces that move from lyrical ballads to energetic tributes to jazz tradition. The members of the quartet are all key figures in the Mallorcan jazz scene, with extensive experience performing across festivals such as Jazz de Mar, Eivissa Jazz Festival, and Port d’Andratx’s Jazz y Más.

Goran Levi’s musical journey, from Bulgaria to Mallorca, has been shaped by collaborations with artists like Toni Vaquer, Ramón Cardo, and Pep Garau. The rhythm section—Garcias Tur and Servera—bring depth and groove, while Medina’s saxophone offers lyrical and experimental tones. Together, they explore creative freedom rooted in emotional honesty and strong musical identity.

Jove Big Band Sedajazz

Jove Big Band Sedajazz is a talented group of 23 young musicians known for their creativity, energy, and maturity. They perform jazz standards along with arrangements of funk, rock, Latin jazz, and film music. The band has played at major Spanish jazz festivals and recorded several albums, including In Bloom.
